This is My House is a vibrant exploration of contemporary Caribbean identity through architecture, performance, and masquerade, presented by the 2025 Nieuwe Instituut/Tilting Axis Fellow, Amanda T. McIntyre. This recorded event features McIntyre’s lecture unpacking her experimental work with Caribbean architectural forms and sartorial practices, grounded in her reinterpretation of the Baby Doll masquerade. The conversation following the lecture, with artist and researcher Quinsy Gario (Sandberg Instituut), deepens the inquiry into postcolonial embodiment and creative resistance. Moderated by Federica Notari, with opening remarks by Tilting Axis co-founder Annalee Davis, the session offers critical insight into regional aesthetics and diasporic memory.
