Videobrasil opens its doors at the Southern Panoramas, 19 Contemporary Art Festival SESC_Videobrasil to provide a platform to discuss Tilting Axis, which aims to promote greater conversations and engagement between professionals working within artist-led initiatives and institutions across the wider Caribbean region, build and redefine historical relationships with those in the North, and establish open dialogue with strong networks emerging globally in the South. The inaugural Tilting Axis meeting took place in Barbados at the Fresh Milk Art Platform in February 2015 and the second iteration will be hosted at the Pérez Art Museum Miami (PAMM) in February 2016. Tilting Axis 1.5 will act as a midpoint of discourse to continue the circulation of the collective’s core methodologies by addressing the Caribbean’s peripheral position within larger global art conversations. Key objectives for this mid-point meeting of core partners include generating awareness and sensitizing cultural practitioners in the Global South to Tilting Axis. With Annalee Davis, Holly Bynoe, Mario Caro, María Elena Ortiz and N'Goné Fall.
